# The G7 Network

The backbone of our Digital Nation

The **G7 Network** acts as the highway that connects [*Game7 Nation*](https://game7.io/), and Game7 products [*Summon*](https://app.game7.io/), [*HyperPlay*](https://store.hyperplay.xyz/), and [*World Builder*](/world-builder)*,* with citizen reputation and games, allowing value to be captured, recognized, and distributed among all services, applications, and communities across the ecosystem.

As a digital economy built entirely onchain, every action of value is recorded on the G7 Network, providing clear and immutable evidence of economic activity, reputation, and contribution. This enables our governance system to truly be based on merit, granting a predominant voice to the most engaged participants of the nation.

As a hyper-efficient Arbitrum [Layer 3](https://arbitrum.io/orbit) network, the G7 Network ensures low-cost, rapid throughput, and as an EVM ([Ethereum Virtual Machine](https://www.coinbase.com/learn/crypto-glossary/what-is-the-ethereum-virtual-machine)), developer accessibility with robust tools and services which are already widely adopted and supported.

To learn more about our mission, [read the G7 Manifesto](https://manifesto.game7.io/) and become a **Citizen**. Build with us, and join the future of gaming.

# Building on the G7 Network

The framework to enable and empower developers.

The G7 Network is designed to integrate with an ecosystem of existing and future Game7 products, which are designed to foster user growth and economic engagement, with developers being able tap into this ecosystem through a suite of tools and services.

Through Summon, HyperPlay, and World Builder, developers will be able to leverage:

* **Free Economic Zone:** Games on the network benefit from a Free Economic Zone, leveraging our cutting-edge products and services at no cost and accessing subsidies to simplify player onboarding.
* **Data and Monetization:** By launching games on the network, developers can leverage our existing playersʼ reputation data, economy management tools, and monetization primitives through intuitive APIs provided by World Builder and the HyperPlay [Developer Portal](https://docs.hyperplay.xyz/).
* **Discoverability and Community Building:** As games generate economic activity and value, they are prioritized for visibility and discoverability on both HyperPlay and within the Game7 Portal, helping bootstrap their community and player base with minimal marketing costs.
* **Access to Resources:** As resources are distributed from the treasury to support games, an integrated endowment mechanism plans to unlock resources based on economic activity and value captured by **Game7 Nation**. This provides a transparent, efficient pathway to support game development and growth, aligning their success with that of the Nation.

## **G7 (TG7T) Sepolia Faucet**

If you need TG7T (the testnet G7 token) on G7 Sepolia (the G7 Network testnet) for any of your development and testing needs, you can use the G7 Faucet. The G7 Faucet lets you claim one TG7T every 24-hours on G7 Sepolia.

### Using the G7 Faucet

1. Navigate to the [Game7 DevHub](https://build.game7.io/) and select the [Faucet](https://build.game7.io/faucet)

Navigating to the Faucet from the Game7 DevHub in this manner, should automatically switch the DevHub to **Testnet.** The Faucet is only available on Testnet, so if you cannot see the Faucet option, you can manually set the DevHub to testnet via the network dropdown menu.

Toggle between Testnet and Mainnet

2a. You can choose *Connect Wallet* to connect [EVM](https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/evm/) compatible wallet, such as [Metamask](https://metamask.io/).

You will see the address of the connected wallet if Connected Account is selected under the Account drop-down

2b. Or you can select to manually input an Wallet Address by choosing *External Address* under the *Account* drop-down. Note: when no wallet is connected, it is still possible to manually input a receiving address, only that the *Connected Address* option will not be visible.

You do not need to connect a wallet to be able to select the External Address choice.

3. When you have chosen either *Connected Account* or *External Address,* select *Request Tokens* to receive TG7T to the chosen destination.

Your request will trigger a notification to represent your request having been received

If you click either the link in the pop-up toast notification or the *Notification* button*,* the *Notification Center* will open to display a redirect link to the transaction details on the [*G7 Network Explorer*](https://testnet.game7.io/).

## Adding G7 or TG7T to Your Wallet

When holding G7 on the G7 Network or G7 Sepolia, the G7 token balance (or TG7T token balance) will be visible in your wallet - G7 when connected to the G7 Network, and TG7T when connected to G7 Sepolia. This is due to G7/TG7T being the native token of the network.

The G7 and TG7T tokens on Ethereum and Arbitrum One mainnet and testnet networks are ERC-20 tokens, and may need to be manually added.

{% hint style="info" %}
Wallets reference public token lists to recognise different tokens immediately. When a token exists on a trusted token list, the balance will be automatically visible in your wallet or at most, you may be promoted to add the token with a single click with a wallet such as MetaMask. Not all tokens are visible by default as there can be a risk when interacting with unknown tokens.
{% endhint %}

### Adding G7 and TG7T

1. Switch MetaMask to the applicable network: Ethereum, Arbitrum One or Sepolia, Arbitrum Sepolia
2. Click the "..." menu:

3. Select *Import tokens*

4. Select *Custom token*

5. Input the applicable token address into the *Token contract address* field and click *Next*

*The symbol and decimals should automatically fill once the address has been added*

6. Click *Import,* and the token will now be visible in your wallet

# Bridging G7

The canonical fungible token bridge for the G7 Network and more

## What is the Game7 Bridge

The [Game7 Bridge](https://build.game7.io/bridge?network=Testnet) enables fungible token transfers between [Layer 1 and Layer 2](https://www.coinbase.com/en-gb/learn/crypto-glossary/what-are-layer-3-blockchains-and-what-is-the-difference-with-layer-2-blockchains#Layer--vs-Layer--vs-Layer--Blockchain-Scaling-Solutions) blockchains (such as Ethereum and Arbitrum) and the G7 Network (a Layer 3 network).

#### [Game7 Canonical Bridge](https://build.game7.io/bridge) (Secure & Free)

* **Best for:** Large transfers where security is the top priority
* **Speed:** 7-day waiting period when withdrawing
* **Cost:** Free
* **Available on:** Both mainnet and test networks
* **Supported networks:** G7 Network, Arbitrum, Ethereum
* **Extra feature:** Includes a messaging system for developers

{% hint style="info" %}
The messaging protocol sends transactions through a specific smart contract (`InboxContract`) to create *retryable tickets*. Retryable tickets are a component of how one Layer communicates with another. This allows developers to generate transactions in the destination Layer by sending one to the origin Layer. Messaging enables us to send multiple retryable tickets in the same transaction on a Layer 1, triggering another retryable ticket on Layer 2, creating a chained transaction that ultimately reaches Layer 3. You can read more information on this [here](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/l1-l3-teleport-contracts/blob/main/docs/info.md).
{% endhint %}

The **Game7 Canonical Bridge** is currently available on Ethereum Sepolia, Arbitrum Sepolia, G7 Sepolia testnets, and Ethereum, Arbitrum One, and the G7 Network mainnets. The **Game7 Relay Bridge** supports mainnet bridging of **G7** between **Ethereum**, **Arbitrum**, and the **G7 Network**.

{% hint style="info" %}
The Game7 Relay Bridge integrates [Relay](https://www.relay.link/bridge), an omni-chain bridge and swap application. This not only allows for the the bridging of G7 across chains where the G7 token has been deployed (such as Ethereum and Arbitrum One), but also allows for the swapping of tokens during the bridging process. Such as bridging USDC on Arbitrum One, and swapping it to G7 on G7 Network.
{% endhint %}

## The Game7 Canonical Bridge

* The Canonical Bridge applies a 7-day withdrawal period (challenge period) for security reasons and it is the most security option for large transfers.
* There are no fees associated with bridging in/out of the G7 Network.
* Only the Canonical Bridge supports bridging tokens on G7 Sepolia and other testnets (Ethereum Sepolia, Arbitrum Sepolia).
* The Canonical Bridge delivers another feature with the inclusion of a[ messaging protocol](https://docs.arbitrum.io/how-arbitrum-works/arbos/l1-l2-messaging) built into the UI of the Bridge application.

{% hint style="info" %}
The messaging protocol sends transactions through a specific smart contract (InboxContract) to create retryable tickets. You can read more information on this[ here](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/l1-l3-teleport-contracts/blob/main/docs/info.md).
{% endhint %}

The Game7 Canonical Bridge is currently available on Ethereum Sepolia, Arbitrum Sepolia, G7 Sepolia testnets, and Ethereum, Arbitrum One, and the G7 Network mainnets.

### How to Bridge with the Game7 Canonical Bridge

The Game7 Canonical Bridge is available for both developers and general users to easily transfer and withdraw supported fungible tokens to and from the G7 Network.

The testnet version of the[ Canonical Bridge](https://build.game7.io/bridge) can also be accessed in the Game7 DevHub.

Using the Canonical Bridge on either testnet or mainnet networks requires gas tokens for the networks being utilized. In the case of G7 Sepolia, TG7T is required, while on Ethereum Sepolia and Arbitrum Sepolia, testnet ETH will be required.

In the below guide, we will reference testnet in the supporting images, but the flow is the same for mainnet. The only difference is that the gas tokens needed will be G7 on the G7 Network, and mainnet ETH on Ethereum and Arbitrum One.

1. Navigate to the Game7 Bridge in the [Game7 DevHub](https://build.game7.io/) and connect a supported wallet such as MetaMask.

As we will be referencing testnet, Arbitrum Sepolia and G7 Sepolia are shown as network options

The network - Mainnet/G7 Network or Testnet/G7 Sepolia - can be toggled via the selector at the top left of the page. For this bridging example, it will be set to **Testnet**.

2. With your wallet connected, choose the network you want to bridge tokens *From* and *To,* and also switch the network in your wallet to the From network *(this will often be prompted automatically)*.

The connected wallet already holds a balance of TG7T on Arbitrum Sepolia. TG7T can be claimed from the Game7 Faucet

3. Select the token you wish to bridge. Enter the amount of the token into *Amount* field.

Once an amount has been defined, the Transaction Summary will update and the Submit button will become active

**Note:** Before being able to confirm the bridging action, you will need to ensure you have enough of the appropriate tokens for the transaction fees.

4a. Once you click Submit, you will be prompted to "Approve Allowance". This approval grants the bridge permission to transfer that amount of tokens which have been specified. When clicking *Approve*, you will be prompted to approve in this in your connected wallet.

Approve the bridge to access the tokens and the amount you want to bridge. You can set a custom amount.

4b. Once you have approved the allowance in your connected wallet, you will next need to approve the bridging transaction itself, so that the tokens will be bridged.

You can click the Transaction status icon (e.g Pending, Completed) in the Activity tab, to view your transaction in the block explorer.

5. After approving the bridging transaction, you will be automatically taken to the Activity tab. Here you can see the status of your transaction. It will first display a *Pending* state.

A notification will appear to alert you that the transaction has completed

6. Once the transaction has completed, the Activity tab will update the status of the transaction and an notification will be served, and the tokens will have been delivered to your wallet.

### Regarding Deposit and Withdrawals

* When you choose to **Deposit** tokens to the G7 Network or G7 Sepolia with the **Canonical Bridge**, the tokens will be received to your connected wallet once the transaction has finalized, with no further steps required.
* When you choose to **Withdraw** tokens from the G7 Network or G7 Sepolia, once the transaction is finalized, the tokens will not be available in your connected wallet until you have manually selected to Withdraw the tokens via a *Claim Now* button. Note, that you will require a native token balance on the respected chain to make the withdrawal to pay the transaction fee on regardless of whether on mainnet or testnet.
* It is required to *Claim* the bridged out assets for all tokens (such as USDC), not only G7. For all transactions **you will need to return after the challenge period to claim the tokens** back to your wallet.

You will need to click Claim Now to complete the transaction. This Claim Now action is a transaction, and therefore will require gas tokens for the network where the tokens are being claimed.

### Roll-Up Challenge Periods

As with other Layer 3 networks, there are *challenge periods* for withdrawing tokens from the G7 Network. This challenge period is standard for [Optimistic rollups](https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/scaling/optimistic-rollups/) and exists for fraud proofs, ensuring that only legitimate transactions are finalized.

The challenge period is **one hour** for G7 Network withdrawals when utilizing the Game7 Bridge.

You will see your pending claims transactions in the *Activity* tab.

# Using G7 Network Explorer

The G7 Network utilizes a version of the [*Blockscout*](https://www.blockscout.com/) block explorer. Block explorers are important and useful tools for developers, as they provide insight and access to blockchain activity, such as transactions, account activity, and allow for direct interaction with deployed smart contracts.

The G7 Network Explorer also surfaces network analytics, including account data, smart contracts, transactions, and more. Samples of this data are highlighted below.

Both the G7 Network and G7 Sepolia have block explorers:

Network

Explorer Link

G7 Network Explorer

https://mainnet.game7.io/

G7 Sepolia Explorer

https://testnet.game7.io/
